Warm Breezes, Beautiful Views & Treasure Hunting
What could be better than a little summer trip to the South of France – beautiful views, sunshine, warm air, fabulous food and lots of quirky little vintage markets!
Last year I decided to take a little trip myself, it doesn’t have to cost the earth and there is lots of fun and relaxation to be had.
Preparation is key, to take advantage of low cost flights book early, it is possible to get flights to Nice from EasyJet for as little as £95.00 return.
Unlike the flights, in some instances it can be cost effective to book accommodation close to your travel date in order to gain some good rates, there are plenty of hotels and quaint guest houses available. I booked my accommodation 3 weeks before travel.
I decided to stay at the Blanc Sable https://www.blancsablehotel.com/, a stylish family run boutique hotel in Golfe-Juan. Rooms are available from £110.00 per night for a twin or double room. From here I was able to get the train to Cannes, which took about 30minutes. Juan Les Pins and Antibes were a short bus journey away.
There seems to always be a vintage market going on in Antibes, with reasonable prices and great vintage finds. In this low key, laid back pretty provincial town, I stumbled upon a small market in the Old Town Square and managed to get some beautiful vintage butterfly earrings. I also spotted a Sara Moon picture, vintage markets are held every Sunday in the Old Town Square. After a leisurely lunch of savoury crepes and an aperol spritz, I headed down to Plage Antibes a small beach cove, to breath in some sea air and take in the sights.
If you are looking for a buzzier affair you could stay in Cannes, the Hotel Splendid https://www.splendid-hotel-cannes.com/ seemed to be well placed and near to the many gorgeous beach bars, after all you may need a little bit of horizontal time after all that vintage shopping!
All that’s left to say is happy treasure hunting! Simply take a look around the Gracie Lane Boutique for fabulous vintage finds – Vintage Jewellery, Vintage Handbags and Vintage Homeware!
